Democratic registration surges in Yamhill County

We’ve been busy with fairs, fundraisers and events, but are now catching up to let you know what’s up with voter registration rates in Yamhill County.

From May to June, Yamhill County had the second largest increase in registration, 5.6%, second only to Multnomah County. Almost all of that to Democrats: From Q1 to Q2, Democratic registration increased 17% but only 1% for Republicans ... and non-affiliated was flat.

Republicans are now just 39% of the county to Democrats 36% -- from a traditional 10% deficit, to just 3%.

In House District 24, there is now just a 2% deficit as Republican support has dropped from 42% to 39% and Democrats have risen 4% to 37%.

In Senate District 12, Republicans now hold a slim 4% advantage: 40% to 36%.
